Santana

Santana Rueda grew up in Wilmington, California, before serving in the U.S. Army. That background — the discipline, the structure, the ability to push through when a task gets hard — is part of what shapes how he's approaching his next challenge: racing the Baja 1000 solo, in the Ironman class, on a Honda CRF450X.

The Ironman class means no relay team and no handoffs. One rider covers the entire Baja course alone, through the day and through the night, across terrain that breaks bikes and riders in equal measure. It is widely regarded as one of the toughest tests in off-road racing.

For Santana, this race isn't about chasing a spotlight. It's about proving something to himself, and honoring the discipline he built during his time in the Army by putting it to the test in a different arena. Training has meant long hours on the bike, balancing preparation with responsibilities at home, and the kind of quiet, repetitive work that rarely gets seen but always gets felt on race day.
